The Katsina Emirate Council announced recently the elevation of Alhaji Dikko Nuhu Yashe to the position of a substantive member of the council.
Prior to his elevation, Alhaji Dikko, a retired Assistant Comptroller General of Immigration, held the title of Fada Babban Katsina.
He is among the few sons of the Emirate recognized for their contributions to the development of Katsina State and the Emirate respectively.
Alhaji Dikko is son to Alhaji Nuhu Yashe, the Bebejin Katsina, and one of the highly respected traditions rulers in the state.
Born on August 25th 1960, Dikko Nuhu Yashe attended Garama LEA Primary School and Government Secondary School Malumfashi before proceeding to Bayero University Kano for his undergraduate studies.
After his graduation, he joined the Nigerian Immigration Service in 1985 and Rose through the ranks to attain the position of Assistant Controller General.
He held several appointments during his 35 year career with the NIS, which include Comptroller, Murtala Muhammad Airport Command Lagos, Comptroller Kano State Command, Head of Operations, Katsina State Command.
Other are Deputy Comptroller Operation Store at the SHQ, Passport Control Officer in Nassarawa and Niger States, and Head Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit of the Service.
Alhaji Dikko attended several senior officers course including, Intelligence and Information Gathering at DSS Training School in Bwari, Abuja, Border Management Course at the Command and Staff College, Sokoto, and Emotional Intelligence Course.
He is a recipient of the Best Comptroller of the Year 2019 Award by Northern Actors Forum in Lagos.
The NIS was recognized as the best performing agency by the Presidential Enabling Business Council for implementing the Ease of Doing Business in Nigeria when he was the Comptroller at the Murtala Muhammed Airport Lagos.
Alhaji Dikko Nuhu Yashe who has since assumed duties at the Emirate Council, is expected to bring his wealth of experience to bear in the discharge of his new role as a community leader and advisor to the Emirate.
