The National Emergency Management Agency in collaboration with other stake holders recently averted a catastrophe in Kaduna where a Petrol tanker conveyiñg product invhas successfully evacuated petroleum products from a tanker involved in an accident along Nnamdi Azikiwe Expressway, Kaduna.
This coordinated effort ensured the safe transfer of the product to another tanklved in anaccident.
The agency activated an emergency response team consisting of fire fighters from the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency, the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), and Federal Fire Service, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the Nigerian Red Cross Society (NRCS),.
Others involved in the rescue effort include Kaduna State Traffic Law Enforcement Authority (KASTLEA), the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency (NOSDrA), and the National Blood Transfusion Service (NBTS).
The National Orientation Agency (NOA), the Kaduna State Disaster Management Platform (DMP), and media partners played crucial roles in traffic and crowd control, operational coordination, and humanitarian services.
This swift and effective intervention highlights the commitment of emergency agencies to public safety and disaster management. Authorities appreciate the cooperation of the public and urge continued vigilance in ensuring safety on our roads.
