These three words define the transformative leadership of Governor Uba Sani, whose first two years in office have brought sweeping changes across Kaduna State. From infrastructure and education to healthcare, energy, and economic empowerment, the administration’s results reflect a bold commitment to inclusive governance and sustainable development.
Infrastructure: Building the Backbone of Development
Governor Uba Sani has prioritized public infrastructure as a key catalyst for economic growth and improved living standards. Key completed projects include:
Gadan Gayan–Gwaraji–Kujama Junction Road (35km)
Gwantu–Kibam–Godogodo Road (22.5km)
TPO1356 Road off Yakubu Gowon Way (1.4km)
The 270-meter span bridge at College Road, Ungwan Dosa, under a PPP model, is also underway, further enhancing urban connectivity.
To combat vandalism and infrastructure theft, the administration has launched KADINFRA, a resident-friendly hotline for real-time reporting and monitoring.
Power & Renewable Energy: Kaduna Lights Up
Through the revitalized Kaduna Power Supply Company (KAPSCO), the state is reducing energy poverty and promoting renewable solutions:
Installed solar mini-grids in 190 PHCs, reducing maternal mortality through uninterrupted power.
Deployed 2,000+ solar-powered streetlights, improving security at night.
Saved over ₦739 million in power costs through improved billing and efficiency.
Expanded Solar for All (SFA) to over 200 rural households.
Partnered with the FG on the E-HEART project to deliver 2.5MW of solar energy.
Making headway in reviving the 84MW Kudenda power plant.
Water Supply & Sanitation: Clean Water for Every Household
The Kaduna State Water Corporation (KADSWAC) has taken concrete steps to improve water delivery:
Achieved a 15% reduction in water loss through repair and detection.
Boosted revenue by ₦53.7 million in two months.
Cleared salary arrears to staff, increasing motivation and productivity.
Introduced billing system upgrades and water meter diagnostics.
Challenges remain, especially with 45% of water infrastructure aging and 80% demand unmet, but proactive planning is underway.
Traffic & Mobility: Smart Urban Transport
KASTLEA is leading traffic reforms and enforcement with impactful interventions:
Enforced heavy-duty truck restrictions during peak hours.
Launched Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) for digital enforcement.
Introduced digitized driving tests in collaboration with private firms.
Continues to run 24/7 rescue teams and traffic clearing units.
Rural Roads: Connecting Every Community
Under KADRA, Kaduna has launched 78 road projects across all 23 LGAs, totaling 775km, with 21 roads completed so far. These roads are transforming rural access to education, healthcare, and markets.
Education: Kaduna Reclaims Its Legacy as the “Centre of Learning”
From tuition reductions to school construction, Governor Uba Sani’s reforms in education are among the most ambitious in Nigeria.
Key Achievements:
40% tuition fee reduction in all state-owned tertiary institutions.
Completion of 6 ISDB-funded Science Secondary Schools.
Near-completion of the Special School for Gifted Children and acquisition of Zaria Academy.
Massive projects at KASU including Engineering, Law, and Allied Health Faculties.
Kaduna State Universal Basic Education Board (KADSUBEB):
650 new classrooms and 707 renovated in phase 1.
Over 26,000 teachers trained.
Distributed 1.4 million instructional materials.
Cleared ₦548 million in withheld Endwell Scheme funds.
Trained 2,000+ learners in TVET skills like ICT, tailoring, and welding.
Reaching Out-of-School Children Project (ROOSCP):
Launched in 2024, this bold initiative aims to return 200,000 children to school through:
Construction of 102 new schools and renovation of 170.
