UBA SANI AT 55: UBA SANI FOUNDATION DONATES FOOD STUFF, MEDICAL SUPPLIES TO ORPHANS, PATIENTS IN KADUNA

The Uba Sani Foundation has donated food items and medical support to orphans and patients in Kaduna and Zaria.

Ibrahim Dan-Halilu, the executive director (ED) of the foundation, said the gesture is part of activities marking the 55th birthday of Uba Sani, governor of Kaduna.

Dan-Halilu said the outreach, held on Wednesday, December 31, targeted vulnerable groups, including children in orphanages and patients receiving treatment in public hospitals.

He said food items worth millions of naira were distributed at seven orphanages and eight major public health facilities during the exercise.

The items included 50 kg bags of rice, spaghetti, cooking oil, seasoning cubes, pomade and soap, as well as sanitary pads and blankets to protect the children from the harmattan cold.

Dan-Halilu listed Umm Aytam Orphanage and Women Home in Unguwan Dosa, Al-Ihsan Orphanage in Nassarawa, Adonai Children and Widows Home in Kakuri, and Naphtali Orphanage in Gonin Gora, among others, as beneficiaries of the outreach.

The ED said the foundation also extended support to patients at public hospitals, including Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital, Yusuf Dantsoho General Hospital in Tudun Wada, Gwamna Awan General Hospital in Makera-Kakuri, General Hospital Kawo, and Hajiya Gambo Sawaba General Hospital in Kofar Gayan, Zaria.

“More than 200 patients received cash assistance to help cover the cost of prescribed drugs and laboratory tests,” he said.

He said the foundation used the occasion of the governor’s birthday to remember the less privileged and support them ahead of the new year.

“The purpose of the visits was to use the occasion of the governor’s birthday to remember the less privileged in our midst and assist them so they can enter the new year in high spirits,” he said.

He urged well-meaning Nigerians to support vulnerable groups and emulate the governor’s longstanding commitment to philanthropy.

Beneficiaries expressed gratitude for the humanitarian programme and prayed for the governor’s long life, good health and continued service to humanity.
