Governor Uba Sani: A Beacon of Philanthropy in Kaduna State

In an era where leadership is often scrutinized, Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State stands out as a paragon of philanthropy and dedication to his people’s welfare. His administration’s initiatives have consistently aimed at alleviating poverty, ensuring food security, and fostering economic empowerment across the state.

One of the most commendable endeavors under Governor Sani’s leadership was the donation of 600 trucks of rice and liquid cash of over ₦3 billion, targeting 200,000 households—benefiting approximately one million individuals. This initiative underscored his commitment to supporting both the Muslim Ummah and Christian communities in Kaduna State as the observed fasting of the Holy Month of Ramadan and Lent respectively.

Beyond food distribution, Governor Sani launched an agricultural support scheme to bolster food production and security. This program provided fertilizers, seeds, and other essential farm inputs to small-scale farmers, enhancing their productivity and contributing to the state’s economic growth.

Further solidifying his commitment to the agricultural sector, the governor distributed 500 trucks of fertilizer, amounting to 15,000 metric tonnes, to 120,000 smallholder farmers across the state’s 23 Local Government Areas. This initiative not only aimed at boosting crop yields but also at ensuring the livelihoods of countless farming families.

Governor Sani’s philanthropic vision extends beyond agriculture. His administration earmarked ₦4.2 billion for cash grants, fertilizers, farm inputs, and implements to support vulnerable households, smallholder farmers, micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), persons with disabilities, internally displaced persons (IDPs), orphans, market women, and youths. Additionally, ₦3.3 billion was allocated for the payment of pensions, gratuities, and death benefits to families of deceased civil servants, reflecting his holistic approach to governance.

In essence, Governor Uba Sani’s tenure epitomizes compassionate leadership. His unwavering commitment to the welfare of Kaduna State’s residents, irrespective of their religious affiliations, showcases a leader deeply attuned to the needs of his people. Through these philanthropic endeavors, he has not only alleviated immediate hardships but has also laid a foundation for sustainable development and inter-community harmony in Kaduna State.
